Xavier Devillers began his musical journey at the age of seven by learning piano, later becoming a chorister at Les Pastoureaux (Waterloo Boys’ Choir), where he returned as Assistant Director of Music at the age of eighteen.
He graduated from the Université catholique de Louvain with a BA in Modern Languages and Literatures, and a MA in Musicology. While in his final year, he entered the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel. After gaining a BA in Music Theory and Writing, he pursued further studies in counterpoint, fugue and orchestration, while minoring in conducting with Yves Segers and singing with Yu-Cheng Lu. Since 2017, he is now studying singing with Lena Lootens.
Besides, Xavier has furthered his choral conducting skills with Thomas Hofereiter, Guy Van Waas and Bob Chilcott. He also gained valuable insights while being conducted by internationally renowned conductors such as Leonardo García Alarcón, Gerrit Stadlbauer, Lorenzo Donati, Mikko Sidoroff and Maria van Nieukerken.
Since 2016, Xavier serves as Teaching Assistant in Musicology at the Université catholique de Louvain.
